Well, I finally got off my duff and painted my Reaper painting contest Grand Prize: Rollergirl is one of my oldest superheroes. I've being playing her on and off since the glory days of college Champions... So when I won the contest I decided to have her sculpted for me - after all, superhero figures are few and far between, and I really didn't see any great likelihood of a mini company issuing a rollerskating woman any time soon ;^) I was amazed at how close Sandra Garritty sculpted her to my original drawing:
She really did a wonderful job! I have to thank her and Reaper again for this great prize! Of course, to bring the mini truly to life I had to put her in an appropriate setting... Sandra had sculpted her on a flat base, which was a pleasant surprise, since I assumed the fig would be on the standard Reaper "pre-flocked" base, but I decided to go one step further and show her at her full blinding speed. So here she is, just rocketing away from a stop sign, no doubt in pursuit of some evildoer (or just out for a joy-skate) ;^) Now I just have to figure out what to do with the other 15 or so copies I have left - one friend suggested the "Legion of Alternate Rollergirls" all from different dimensions, with different color schemes.
